The defendant was stopped by the police for going 56 mph in a 35 mph zone, weaving within her lane of travel and for following vehicles in front of her too closely. Police noticed that the defendant had bloodshot – glassy eyes, a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage, slurred speech and was very argumentative. The defendant admitted having a few drinks and performed poorly of field sobriety exercises. The defendant refused a breath test and was arrested for DUI.
