DUI & Criminal Division

Law enforcement observed the Defendant leave a bar parking lot and commit multiple traffic infractions. The officer immediately conducted a traffic stop and observed the Defendant had slurred speech, bloodshot eyes, and an odor of alcohol coming from his breath. After the Defendant admitted to consuming a “few drinks” the officer began a DUI investigation. The Defendant was polite and cooperative but declined to participate in the investigation; he was subsequently arrested for DUI based on the officers observations. After extensive discussions with the State Attorney’s Office, the attorney convinced the prosecutor to drop the DUI charge.
